Notes

Virginia marsh st. johnswort (Hypericum virginicum) is a perennial for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. Pink flowers bloom from early to late summer and cluster at the top of the leafy stem. Most St. John's-worts have yellow flowers, so this one stands out. Butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Miscanthus, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Blue star creeper.
