Notes
'Wachtposten' palm sedge (Carex muskingumensis 'Wachtposten') is a grass for borders, rain gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. It forms an arching clump that reaches 24 to 36 inches tall and 12 to 18 inches wide. Butterflies and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Meadowsweet, Butterfly milkweed, and Ostrich fern.
