Notes

Walter's viburnum (Viburnum obovatum) is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers appear while the leaves develop, and red fruits follow and turn shiny black. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Birds eat quantities of the fruit.

Pairs well with Florida hobblebush, Strawberry bush, Dahoon, and Blueberry.
