Notes
'War Paint' hosta (Hosta 'War Paint') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average moisture. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It blooms from early to late summer, and the flowers are fragrant. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the blooms.
Pairs well with Pinky Winky panicle hydrangea, Thalia daffodil, and Canada wild rye.
