Notes

Western white clematis (Clematis ligusticifolia) is a vine for low maintenance gardens and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Creamy white flowers cover the vine, and silky seed plumes follow them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. You can cut it back to 1 foot above the ground every 3 to 5 years to renew it.

Pairs well with Woods rose, Chokecherry, and Idaho fescue.
