Notes

'Whistling Swan' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Whistling Swan') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Colonel Jesse C. Nicholls bred it. Its parchment white, semi-double blooms open in early to mid summer. The cupped flowers measure 6-8 inches across and show crimped inner petals around a ring of bright yellow stamens.

Pairs well with Siberian squill, Incrediball hydrangea, Sensitive fern, and Picture tulip.
