White Marseilles fig

Garden uses

Notes

'White Marseilles' fig (Ficus carica 'White Marseilles') is a fruit tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun, so give it the hottest, sunniest spot you have. The fruit is grown for eating fresh, drying, jams, and desserts. It has pale skin, white to light amber flesh, and a sweet, honeyed flavor. It usually bears one crop a year, and you can prune it smaller or grow it in a container.

Pairs well with Artichoke, Tarragon, Society garlic, and American persimmon.
