Notes

'Whittier' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Whittier') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The three-foot stems carry broad, waxy leaves and large, nearly white flowers with a pale sulphur glow in the center. The full double blooms have outer petals that reflex with age. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Blazing star, and Ostrich fern.
