Notes

'Wilbur Wright' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Wilbur Wright') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelway bred it, and its upright stems carry maroon or russet blooms in mid to late spring. Each bloom has yellow stamens in the center and two or three rows of guard petals. The flowers are fragrant and do not burn in the sun.

Pairs well with Siberian squill, Ostrich fern, and Sedge.
