Notes
'William F. Turner' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'William F. Turner') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in mid spring with large, double, dark crimson flowers that have yellow stamens. The flowers are not fragrant. Strong stems hold the blooms upright, and the dark foliage adds contrast.
Pairs well with Francee hosta, Miss Kim lilac, Queen of Night tulip, and False Solomon's seal.
