Notes
'Wims Red' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Wims Red') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Foot long cones of fragrant flowers open creamy white and age to pink and then deep red. Cut some stems for dried bouquets in autumn.
Pairs well with Obedient plant, Western sword fern, and Polish Spirit clematis.
