Notes
'Wine Master' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Wine Master') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single purple flowers have white flecks on the petal edges and small gold stamens. Each stem carries one bud and has good strength for cutting. John and Dot McFarlane introduced it in 2000.
Pairs well with Guacamole hosta, Sedge, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
