Notes

Winter-flowering honeysuckle (Lonicera fragrantissima) is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its creamy white flowers are fragrant and attract bees and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows fast into an arching shape, so give it room.

Pairs well with Japanese quince, HGC Jacob black hellebore, and Common snowdrop.

Native range

Asia and Amur.
