Notes

'Winter Gem' apple (Malus domestica 'Winter Gem') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink spring blooms attract bees, and you need a second apple nearby for pollination. Hugh Ermen bred it in 1975.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Honeyberry, Johnny jump up, and Sundrops.
