Notes
'Winter Gold' mugo pine (Pinus mugo 'Winter Gold') is a shrub for rock gardens, foundation plantings, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a broad evergreen that tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer. Birds also visit the plant.
Pairs well with Candy Stripe moss phlox, Rock soapwort, and Globosa Colorado spruce.
