Notes

'Paul' mugo pine (Pinus mugo 'Paul') is a shrub for rock gardens, foundation plantings, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a broad evergreen that reaches 24 to 36 inches tall and wide. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Rock soapwort, Red Wings moss phlox, and Shrubby cinquefoil.
