Notes
'Xin Zi' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Xin Zi') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant purple single flowers open in late spring and face upward. Darker purple flares spread out from the flower centers, and the guard petals are ruffled and notched.
Pairs well with Liberty hosta, Sedge, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
