Notes
'Zhong Hua Hong Yun' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Zhong Hua Hong Yun') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, reddish-purple flowers open in early to mid spring and face upward. Plants reach about 110 cm at maturity, and the stems are not easily damaged by wind.
Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Star Gazer lily, and Garlic chives.
