Notes

'Akebono' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Akebono') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its flowers are light pink. You can cut the stems to bring that soft color indoors. In the border, it pairs well with plants that have bolder leaves and different shapes.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Ostrich fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Polish Spirit clematis.
