Notes

'Alertie' peony (Paeonia 'Alertie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The fragrant flowers open light pink and age to white, and bees and butterflies visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. George E. Winchell bred it.

Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
