Notes

'Ambrosia' apple (Malus domestica 'Ambrosia') is a tree for food gardens and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for fresh eating, and the fruit has a sweet flavor with floral aromatics. Wilfred Mennell discovered it as a chance seedling in his orchard. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Flowering quince, Garlic chives, and Rhubarb.
