Notes
'Andante' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Andante') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Semi-double light pink flowers fade to white with age and have dark, nearly black flares. The blooms are fragrant but not strong, and they measure about 8 inches across. Irmtraud Rieck bred it.
Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Niobe clematis, Blue fescue, and Queen of Night tulip.
