Notes
'Anna's Magic Ball' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Anna's Magic Ball') is a shrub for borders, containers, rock gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense, fragrant evergreen mound that adds green to the garden in winter. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Birds also visit it.
Pairs well with Stonecrop, Panicle hydrangea, and Prairie dropseed.
