Notes

'Appleblossom Burst' carnation (Dianthus 'Appleblossom Burst') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It blooms in spring, summer, and autumn, and the flowers are fragrant. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Catmint, Black Taffeta coral bells, and Blue fescue.
