Notes

'Arctic Fire' maiden pink (Dianthus deltoides 'Arctic Fire') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It forms a fragrant, evergreen clump that grows quickly and spreads about 12 inches. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms in spring and summer.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Hummelo betony.
