Notes
'Zing Salmon' maiden pink (Dianthus deltoides 'Zing Salmon') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a clumping, evergreen mat with fragrant salmon red flowers in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The plant grows fast and tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Spiked speedwell, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Creeping juniper.
