Notes

'Astolat' delphinium (Delphinium elatum 'Astolat') is a perennial for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Tall flower spikes open from early to late summer. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Album nettle-leaved mullein, Globemaster allium, Royal Storm iris, and Ernest Markham clematis.
