Notes
'Atrosanguinea' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Atrosanguinea') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are purple and scarlet with violet shading, so they bring rich color to a mixed planting. You can cut the flowers to bring that color indoors. Jacques Calot bred it.
Pairs well with Weigela, Orange lily, Garlic chives, and Snowberry.
