Notes

'Aurora' Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis intermedia 'Aurora') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant yellow petals with orange at the base open in early to late winter and early spring. Deer tend to pass it by. The leaves also add color in fall.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Common snowdrop, and Snow crocus.
