Notes

'Barbara Harrington' clematis (Clematis 'Barbara Harrington') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Dominic Harrington bred it as a sport of 'Comtesse de Bouchaud'. Red blooms with white anthers open in spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Lanceleaf coreopsis, Limelight hydrangea, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
