Notes

'Beni-tatsu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Beni-tatsu') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Wada introduced it in 1937. Because it is a woody shrub, you can leave the stems standing through winter and prune only to shape it.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Praying Hands hosta, Korean spice viburnum, and Blue grama.
