Notes

'Benjamin Franklin' peony (Paeonia 'Benjamin Franklin') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The double, dark crimson flowers have a center of small overlapping petals and many stamens. They are faintly fragrant and sit high above the compact foliage on wiry stems. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Phantom panicle hydrangea, Black Hero tulip, and Tall fescue.
