Notes

'Benzinggold' ox eye (Heliopsis helianthoides 'Benzinggold') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, meadows, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows in a clump at a moderate pace, and bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, PowWow White coneflower, and Nodding onion.
