Notes
'Fire Twister' ox eye (Heliopsis helianthoides 'Fire Twister') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Red-orange semi-double blooms with dark brown centers rise above deep burgundy foliage. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Deadhead to extend the blooming season.
Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, PowWow White coneflower, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
