Notes

'Burning Hearts' ox eye (Heliopsis helianthoides 'Burning Hearts') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the orange and yellow bicolor blooms. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. This clumping plant is also drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, PowWow White coneflower, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
