Notes

'Bläuling' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Bläuling') is a shrub for hedges, accents, privacy screens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Flowers open from early to late summer, and the plant tolerates salt. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows at a rapid rate, so give it room to fill out.

Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Autumn fern.
