Notes

'Blue Velvet' lily-of-the-nile (Agapanthus praecox 'Blue Velvet') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Round heads of dark blue flowers open on strong stems from early to late summer and draw hummingbirds and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer. Mulch it with fallen leaves each winter.

Pairs well with Society garlic, Snapdragon, and Tuberose.
