Notes

'Queen Mum' lily-of-the-nile (Agapanthus praecox 'Queen Mum') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Arching, evergreen leaves form a tall clump that grows 24 to 47 inches high. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the summer blooms.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Alcazar red-hot poker, and Russian sage.
