Notes

'Boreal Beauty' honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea 'Boreal Beauty') is a shrub for a food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for large, rounded fruit with a blueberry and raspberry flavor, for fresh eating, pies, jams, and jellies. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Plant a different honeyberry clone nearby for pollination, and the fragrant yellow spring flowers draw bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Pairs well with Danica American arborvitae, Red fescue, and German White garlic.
