Notes
'Bountiful' peony (Paeonia 'Bountiful') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dark red, loosely formed double blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. A mature plant can carry forty or more strong stems, and the dark green foliage stays good late. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Smooth hydrangea, Carlton daffodil, and Western sword fern.
