Notes

'Brush Strokes' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Brush Strokes') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast with an erect habit, tolerates drought, and draws butterflies, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Cut stems for bouquets.

Pairs well with Antiquity cosmos, Profusion Red zinnia, and Red fescue.
