Notes
'Bushey Grove' apple (Malus domestica 'Bushey Grove') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Mr J. T. Good bred it in 1897. The fruit is grown for cooking and keeps for 1 to 2 months. Bees visit the spring flowers, and you need a second apple tree nearby for pollination because it is not self-fertile.
Pairs well with Juneberry, Festiva Maxima peony, and Rainbow's End hosta.
