Notes

'Buttons' forest gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides 'Buttons') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer tend to pass it by. Bees and birds visit it, and the evergreen leaves stay on all year.

Pairs well with Sasanqua camellia, Pineapple sage, and Lemongrass.
