Notes

'Candy Floss' poppy (Papaver somniferum 'Candy Floss') is an annual for borders and low maintenance gardens. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms from early to late summer and draws butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer. It also tolerates drought and grows 24 to 36 inches tall.

Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Lady's mantle, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
