Notes
'Celestial Midnight' viola (Viola cornuta 'Celestial Midnight') is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a fragrant, evergreen clump that grows quickly and spreads 12 to 24 inches. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Blue, purple, and white flowers appear in spring, summer, and autumn.
Pairs well with Burgundy Glow bugle, Fringed bleeding heart, and Ballade tulip.
