Notes

'Checkin' spotted dead nettle (Lamium maculatum 'Checkin') is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist, loamy soil. It grows fast and creeps to a spread of 18 inches, so it fills in bare spots quickly. Pink flowers show up in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Regal Splendor hosta, Canadian white violet, and Autumn crocus.
