Notes

'China Ripple' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'China Ripple') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early blooming semi-double flowers open raspberry-red and gradually lighten with age. The ruffled blooms face upward and reach about 7 inches across. The blue-green leaves have maroon margins.

Pairs well with Pink Impression tulip, Ostrich fern, Burnet, and Clematis.
