Notes

'Chuck Hayes' forest gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides 'Chuck Hayes') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Fragrant flowers open in spring, summer, and autumn and attract bees and birds. The dense evergreen growth reaches about 35 to 47 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Sasanqua camellia, Blue wild indigo, Carolina jessamine, and Anemone.
