Notes

Coastal serviceberry (Amelanchier obovalis) is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. White flowers open in early to late spring, before the leaves are out. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, and the dark-blue to purple fruit feeds birds and small mammals.

Pairs well with Blueberry, Bush honeysuckle, Sea holly, and Ornamental onion.
