Notes

'Colapuy' apple (Malus domestica 'Colapuy') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The dark red apples are grown for fresh eating and have a sweet and sharp flavor. They taste best after 1 to 2 months of storage, and bees visit the spring flowers. Nicholas Dupuis bred it in 1850.

Pairs well with Raspberry, Juneberry, Grape hyacinth, and Christmas fern.
